I greet you all. It is a great honor to be made the one addressing you students and your teachers present. My speech shall be on the former president of India, the late Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. This was a man each and every one of us should emulate. He makes the commonly used phrase, from grass to grace, just but a reality.
Having been born and brought up by a house helping mother and a boat-owning dad did not limit his enthusiasm. He grew up hard working and focused. Some sources also have it that he at some point used to sell newspapers to have the ends meet for his family.
A.P.J Abdul Kalam was born on the 15th day of October 1931. He went through early schooling as an average student. When it was his time for college studies in Madras Institute of Technology, he chose to take physics and aerospace engineering as his career due to his love and passion for science. He was able to get over the studies in time though with challenges.
Science became part of his life for several decades. He acted as being very resourceful in the Indian jurisdiction, particularly in the military, where he was able to take part in numerous innovations with regard to weapons and affiliated applications with the most common one being the missile development effort,which made him be regularly referred to as the missile man of India. As a scientist, therefore, he worked for the welfare of India, making him famous in the place.
In 2002, he was made the 11th President of India, with endorsement by both the ruling party and the opposition of that time in India. The endorsement in unison was just but an indicator that the Indian people had confidence in him. He was often referred to as the people’s president during his term. He, however, went only for a single five years term up to 2007. He died on 27th July 2015 due to heart failure as he was heading to Indian Institute of Management for a public lecture. His life was indeed worth emulation by each and every one of us gathered here today.
