Save Tigers: Short Essay on ‘Save Tigers’

Save Tigers

Save Tigers

Tigers are unique animals, and they play an integral role in the diversity of the ecosystem.

Today, tigers are endangered, and their extinction would demonstrate an unprotected ecosystem that would also not exist for a long time after that. So, the question now lies, “What would happen if tigers suffer extinction?” Let’s take the example of Dodos, a species that suffered extinction in Mauritius. When that happened, a species of the Acacia trees stopped regenerating entirely. This means that when a specific species suffer the fate of extinction, it does not do so without leaving behind a scar, thereby affecting the ecosystem in its entirety. This is another compelling reason to save tigers from going extinct. Below are astonishing facts.

Saving tigers has become the necessity of the hour if we want to protect wildlife, of which a tiger is a big symbol.

In the past century, the tiger population has gone down by 97 percent.

Project save tiger was an effort to restore the safe environments of tigers which are numbered at around 3000 currently.

The Jim Corbett National park where this project was introduced is the most significant tiger reserve in India focused on preserving the tiger.

The objective of that project was to increase the number of tigers that presently exist.

Historically hunting tiger was seen as a thing of pride and bravery. Even now many old palaces seem to boat pictures of a tiger hunt and sometimes even display the tiger skin. Due to laws against hunting many instances of tiger hunting has come down.

Tiger has been declared the national animal of India to so that even one instance of tiger poaching or hunting will be seen as an unpatriotic act and the punishment is severe.

Save tiger has a special place of importance for India as a land of Tigers and we must be committed to it. It is not just about protecting a beautiful animal. We should contribute to saving the lives of tigers so that we can also live just a little longer, thanks to the ecological services provided by forests such as clean air, temperature regulation, and water.
