Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the ambitious Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on 24 January 2019. Under PM-KISAN Scheme, govt. has started the process of transferring the first installment of Rs. 2,000 each to over 1 crore farmers. Under this Income Support Scheme, central govt. is going to provide Rs. 6000 per annum to all small and marginal farmers with land holding upto 2 hectares (5 acre).
PM Kisan Scheme 2019 is a major farmers welfare initiative to ensure minimum income for them. The assistance amount would be transferred through DBT mode directly into the bank accounts of farmers.
The state govt. is identifying the eligible beneficiaries PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and the central govt. is bearing the complete cost for PM Kisan Scheme.
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) 2019 Launch
PM Modi has initiated the electronic transfer of Rs. 2,000 each and the 1st installment of money under the PM-KISAN Scheme has been deposited into the bank accounts of 1.02 crore farmers. All those farmers who have been left out will get this first installment soon. PM has started his speech chanting “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” and then officially marked the launch of PM-Kisan Scheme 2019.
The central govt. is going to provide Rs. 6,000 per annum to all the small and marginal farmers. Those farmers whose land holdings are less than 2 hectares (5 acre) can avail benefits through direct cash transfer. This assistance amount is to be given in 3 equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each.
PM Farmers Income Support Scheme would be fully funded by the central government and it will cost Rs. 75,000 to the Union government. PM Kisan Scheme 2019 will benefit around 12 crore small and marginal farmers. PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana 2019 is going to remain applicable from 1 December 2018. The forms will remain available at the official website pmkisan.nic.in. The farmers can enter their details and submit the PM KISAN Yojana form to become eligible for assistance.
Now PM KISAN Yojana is going to have combined benefits with the state govt’s scheme. For eg – Telangana Rythu Bandhu Yojana, Odisha Kalia Scheme, Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana etc. The assistance amount under these schemes would be merged with the PM Kisan Yojana to raise the living standards of the farmers.
PM Narendra Modi said “the previous govt’s did not have the intention to help the farmers so they could not take the right decisions”. The central govt. is going to provide all possible resources to help double farmer’s income by FY 2022. There is no role of any middlemen in this PM-KISAN Scheme 2019. The scheme has been made foolproof and is going to be implemented with complete transparency. The central govt’s has asked state governments to come forward with list of farmers who would be PM-KISAN Scheme beneficiaries.
