IInd Group of Herbicide –Bioherbicides

These are the bioherbicdal prepared from extracts from plants/ plant parts, fungal spores or its fermented products.

During the last one decade a new approach to biological weed control, called bioherbicdal control, has been developed which is completely private company oriented. This bioherbicides approach involves spray of specific fungal spores or its fermentation products, against the target weed. These preparation are called Mycoherbicides. The concerned firs sell these products to farmers as sprayble formulations, just like herbides. Although none of these preparation has been tried in India, But it may be useful to know of some successful bioherbicidal products used with success abroad.  

Some commercial mycoherbicides use abroad.
