soldier refers to a person who works or serves in the army. His role is to fight for a nation or a region.

A soldier is a person who fights to protect. He is looked upon with a lot of respecting for putting his/her life in danger to protect the national territories.

A soldier can also be defined as a person who works so hard and diligently toward the realization of a given cause of action.

A soldier possesses many character traits that give him an edge over others. A soldier portrays high levels of loyalty, integrity, respect, courage as well as selflessness.

India is a powerful country. There are lakhs of active soldiers. The Indian military forces is the third largest in the world. The Indian Armed Forces consists of the Army (land bases), Air Forces (air-space and aerial warfare), Indian Navy (naval) and Indian Coast Guards (maritime).

Importance of Soldiers

A soldier is charged with among other things;

  • Defending the people of a country from any aggression either external or internal.
  • He or she protects and safeguards the interests of the state.
  • Keeping vigilance on the country’s borders.
  • Ensuring the stability and security of the country in times of skirmishes.
  • Participating in special peacekeeping missions in war-torn countries.

Conclusion

The life of a soldier is different from a civilian in that the prior lives by many rules and regulations that come along with the profession. He is not entirely at liberty to choose the course of actions for his day to day life. The strict discipline that a soldier is expected to follow is based on the training that is received over the years. Also, the reason for such training is to ensure preparedness to face any situations at concise notice. Soldiers have to live away from their families for long stretches of time if required by the situations. Given its nature, it is important to feel immense respect for them. Being a soldier also requires a high level of discipline and determination. The profession also requires one to be loyal, respectful as well as possessing high levels of courage and integrity.
