Powers of Special Leave to Appeal by Supreme Court in India

Under Article 136 of the Constitution of India, the Supreme Court, at its discretion’s may grant special leave to appeal from the judgment, decree or order in any cause or matter passed by any court in the territory of India in the type of civil, criminal or revenue cases.

But it will not apply in any order or sentence by ally court constituted under any law relating to Armed Forces.

The Supreme Court has itself said that it will grant special leave to appeal only in cases where there has been gross miscarriage of justice.
