My Room – Short Essay

My Room

As a teen, my room is my sanctuary. It is my most prized possession because it is totally my own. I spend much of my life in my room studying, playing, reading and relaxing. Secondly, at my home, it is my favouriteplace to be.

My room is a moderately sized room. The walls of my room are white except for one light blue wall. It is adjacent to my bed. I have decorated the wall with posters of my idols. My favourite pictures and my artwork are all pasted on that wall. My study table is placed in front of that wall. I spend hours sitting at the table, either on the computer or writing in my journals.

Why my room is my comfort:

My room is my comfort because:

  • It is a collage of my personality
  • It is my safe-haven

My room represents various aspects of my personality. It shows my passion for sports. My love of writing. My hobby of reading books and sketching. It shows my taste for the good things in life with my best quality PC and games. It shows how much I treasure my experiences.

My most amazing experiences adorn my wall in the form of pictures. Pictures of my friends, family and achievements remind me of everything I care about. I am most relaxed in my room. It is a cluster free room. The cabinets and wardrobe are concealed, everything is tidy. I prefer to keep things neat and clean. It helps to maintain my focus on important tasks. I like no distractions so there are no toys for me to tinker with in my room.

My room’s window overlooks the backyard. I often sit beside it to have my tea or read. Looking at the fresh plants growing in our kitchen garden refreshes my tired eyes. I appreciate my room because it is my personal space. I can be at ease in there. It is the best room I could have ever asked for.
