Karishma was a healthy girl of our class up-to last year, her body weight was quite appropriate. But now she has lost her body weight significantly to an extreme level. She seems to be too slim and trim. In fact, during last month, she was willing to lose more weight because she had intense fear of gaining weight. Her friends, Satakshi, used to tell her that she is becoming too skiny but she did not believe. Madam Gayatri, our Physical Education teacher, was also surprised to see the condition of Karishma. She came to know the fact and told Karishma that her problem is Anorexia Nervosa, which can damage her mental and physical health. She suggested her to follow certain points for proper management and treatment of anorexia. After few months, Karishma recovered from this eating disorder. On the basis of above passage, answer the following questions:

    During driving phase following muscles contribute – Gluteal muscles (gluteus maximus and gluteus minimus) and hamstrings (biceps femoris, semimembranosus, and semitendinosus) create extension and hyperextension at the hip joint.

    Quadriceps group of muscles (rectus femoris, vastus medialis, vastus lateralis and vastus intermedialis) create extension of knee.

    During recovery phase following muscles contribute:

    Iliopsoas create flexion at hip.

  • Muscles Involved In Throwing:

    It consists of two phases, first phase is preparatory phase and second phase is throwing phase. During preparatory phase following muscles contribute:

    Posterior deltoids and latissimus dorsi muscles create horizontal hyperextension at shoulder. Triceps brachii create extension at elbow.

    During throwing phase following muscles contribute:

    Posterior deltoids and latissimus dorsi muscles create horizontal flexion at shoulder.

    Biceps brachii muscles create flexion at elbow.
  • Muscles Involved In Jumping:
